I am often asked, what age is best for my child to learn about firearms? The answer is simple, whenever the parent feels comfortable. Children have curious minds and if you are able to help guide that curiosity learning firearm safety can be beneficial. I will work with both the child and parent together, so as a family learning firearm safety with a pistol and rifle is understood.
Expectations
We will discuss firearm safety rules, proper operation, shooting fundamentals, firearm inspection and maintenance, and five fundamentals of marksmanship using a small semi-automatic pistol, revolver, and rifle. We will touch on Florida Gun Laws (FS 790) to help both the child and parent know their roles when firearm safety is involved.
